After the First Three Days of School

First day of school is always great. But to be honest, by Day 2, I've been sick of school. Already. I know.

I suppose it doesn't help that Day 2 (Tuesday and Thursday classes) have two classes that are on my least favourite list. Okay, Philosophy probably won't be too bad. But I think the Psychology of Education class, which I was excited for, is going to have a lot of work. I also have had all the teachers in my other courses before, but not the woman who teaches the Psych class, so I'm not comfortable with her. Yet. We'll see.

Wednesday. First class of the day, Science. You know the science that I took last semester that was so incredibly boring? Yeah, that science. This is a continuation class. All the people from the people dropped out to leave six students including me. And on Friday, I found out that two more people dropped out. Supposedly the class is still going to go on. I'm glad because I need the class for my science minor, but also not glad because I detest that class and it being at 8:30 in the morning makes me want to tear my hair out. Everyone else arrives just on time or late and the teacher is always late, so I freaked out on the first day that I was in the wrong classroom. I pretended that I needed a drink of water and went to the water fountain to have an excuse to go back to the room and get to check the room number. Since it was the first day of me having to get up at 6 in the morning and I was so not used to that, I was exhausted. Bored. My parents bought me these special teas for Christmas and I used a bag of black currant tea to have in science class. My eyes were drooping and I wanted that class to be over from the moment it started. So I decided I needed caffeine and had a sip of my currant tea. It was so good I almost cried.

ALL THE TIME in science

Second class was an Alice Munro course that I'm taking with a professor from last semester with my Early Canadian Literature course. He is so enthusiastic and I love him. When I have only science and this class on Mondays and Fridays, the only reason I'm getting up in the morning is for him and his class. After that class, I had a few hours break between that and Victorian Lit, which I have with my two good friends, E. and G. I had my break with G. and she showed me the first episode on Netflix from North and South. I think I've fallen in love with this show and I can't wait to have an opportunity to watch more! One-third of me while watching it is thinking PERIOD DRRRRRRAMA, one-third is thinking RICHARD ARMITAGE, and the last third is thinking BATES IS IN THIS I LOVE THE CRINKLES BY HIS EYES.

I wish I could tell you how lonely I am. How cold and harsh it is here. Everywhere there is conflict and unkindness. I think God has forsaken this place. I believe I have seen hell and it's white, it's snow-white.

(don't pay attention to the scenes after the cotton mill...
I haven't seen them yet and I honestly think this
scene should not be juxtaposed with them)

Thursday, not much to say. We were let out of Psych halfway through because the projector didn't work. I felt super lonely in Philosophy because I knew no one but the teacher and I was sitting in the middle of a row by myself, but then I realized after class that I have a friend who sat a row behind me because she didn't realize I was in the class, either.

So coming into the weekend, I feel pretty good. Besides the fact that I already have a ton of reading to do and I have to decide what I'm going to write about for three papers pretty quick.

And so all that's left to talk about is my life in status updates and Pinterest, I guess. :)

January 3th

Putting my LOTR Lego and action figures in a box. Shelob has captured the fellowship (look at Sam's face).

January 6th
Favourite song of the moment. I don't like too many of her songs, but I really love this one.

I think I’m a super fan but then there are those people who can read Gallifreyan and all I can think then is that I am a disgrace to my fandom.
The moment when you’re not paying enough attention to the way you eat and a piece of food gets too close to your throat and you know you’re going to have to swallow it without chewing and you think, “This is the end.”

January 7th
First class of the day. Five minutes before class. I'm the only one here. I'm freaking out that I'm in the wrong classroom but I swear I checked at least five times to make sure the door number was correct.

January 8th

Second day of classes... already have a ton of homework to do in planning for essays that are going to come up pretty quickly. But that's the life of an Arts student, am I right?

It’s so much more entertaining to make a list of the things I need to get done this weekend for my classes rather than actually getting a start on the homework.

January 9th

I never realized how good Savage Garden is for creating a good walking pace from the bus stop to home.

I just love it how other girls go searching for pictures of their favourite male celebrity shirtless but instead I say things like, “Woah that guy looks so sexy in those period-specific clothing” or “He looks so attractive putting a coat on.”

I am trying educate myself in the music I should know about. For example, I have never listened to a Queen song before... only covers. But no one gets to call me an uncultured swine except myself. DON'T STOP ME DON'T STOP ME I'M HAVING A GOOD TIME.

Reading: Alice Munro, "Walking on Water" ... I actually don't mind this story. I think I'm going to do my journal entry for Monday on this one. YUSSS I DON'T HAVE TO WRITE ON SOME STORY WITH A ROMANTIC PLOT.

Listening to:

~ Angel with a Shotgun ~
(of courrrrse I was going to choose a SPN
music video... ignore the destiel hints)

~ Don't Stop Me Now ~

~ The Words ~
(Supposedly there's a music video coming out for this soon...
and guess who's in it?! COLIN O'DONOGHUE!!!!! You
can't believe how excited I am for this - favourite song
off this album AND this very gorgeous man. :) :) )

~ Eye of the Tiger ~
(only part of song but the video is so worth it)

~ I've Seen Hell ~
This piece of music is gorgeous. Just gorgeous.

Things pinned recently

My dad always says something like this...
I showed him this post and he was amused.

I literally make these type of faces at my friends
when I see them in the hall.

this is literally what happened

I love it when characters say things or act in ways I can totally relate to.
