In my blog browsing this morning, I found a rather interesting tradition that happens at the end of exams in Oxford.
After exams are finished and students walk out of the Examination School, friend pelt the students (wearing formal academic garb) with champagne, confetti, silly string, flour, and glitter. The rules are: no eggs, no rotten food, no beans, ketchup, fish, broken glass, or excessive alcohol. (Note: When the tradition started 25 years ago, it traditionally involved these things that are now forbidden.)
Officially, the University discourages any students from taking part in this tradition... but it still happens anyway!
Here's something to think about for anyone who has just graduated (or is graduating soon)!
