My New Favourite Thing

I always love finding a new music artist, book, movie, or TV show because perhaps I shall find a new fandom. I don't fangirl over EVERYTHING as much as it may seem. But anyway...without further ado, I shall introduce you to my newest fandom. It is kind of strange that I could love something so much when I haven't read the book or watched the movie. All I have done is ready a teeny-tiny abridged version of the book for the lack of anything else to read about the subject and watched as many videos as I can find that are related to the movie, such as all the behind-the-scenes stuff. You may ask, isn't that going a little far, Alyianna? Yes...yes, it probably is. But I LIVE to delve into the world of my fandoms as much as I possibly can. Well, okay, maybe that isn't exactly the purpose of my existence, but you know what I mean...right? ;)

Other people reading this post may be thinking, "Come on, Alyianna! Stop beating around the bush. Just tell us what you like so much!" Guess what? I'm really bad at going straight to the point, so if you want to keep reading my posts, you better get used to it. :P But enough of that. Yes, I shall finally introduce this fandom that one of my friends from my school introduced to me when she got so excited about the movie coming out.

Or perhaps I should drive you crazy and give you hints.

This movie was nominated for four Golden Globe Awards.

An actress from this movie won in the category of Best Supporting Actress in the Academy Awards (aka Oscars).

Alright, alright...I'll stop running and let you catch me.

Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce to you...?

Yup, that's right. You are finally at the point of finding out what I was talking about for such a long time just so you would have to scroll down to find out what I was talking about and not see it at the top. Did I perk your interest...or did I just bore you? I hope the former. :)

From the moment my friend M from school got all excited for the movie and then invited me to see it with her (I couldn't because of exams but that's not the point), I started getting interested. Then I watched the trailer and heard the song "One Day More"...and I was hooked.

How long ago was that? Umm...perhaps a few weeks. Yeah, it took me that long to tell you all about. I've got online classes with my math teacher in the morning every day now, okay? You have to give me a bit of a break. :)

So this is the fandom that you will be hearing about for the next while now...though I have a feeling it's going to be more than just a little bit. I even think this fandom may be going up there with LOTR...because that's at the point it is right now.

Watch out for that. ;)

  1. Yeah, I loved it too. :D I... just wish Enjolras had had a stronger voice. Don't get me wrong, his voice is beautiful and light. But... I think for a revolution leader, he should have been a weeeee touch stronger. :D

I LOVED Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean!

And Russel Crowe's version of "Stars" is the only one that I really like. All they others... are just boring. :)

And Anne Hathaway... rocked Fantine. :D

  2. Hi Hilda,

I haven't watched the movie yet, but here's a good review of the movie by my good friend Charity:

    To Treskie!

*sighs happily* I keep listening to the soundtrack over and over again...I love Russel Crowe's voice, Jean Valjean is just amazing...I love Enjolras' voice, too. I thought it was pretty strong, but maybe you know better than me. :P
