Horse meat is bad for you

(...) Crosland said the organization wants the bans because horses are not bred for humans to eat and can have traces of chemicals dangerous to people, such as phenylbutazone, more commonly known as bute.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency, which is responsible for the safety of Canada's food supply, has banned bute in horses being slaughtered for consumption. However, most horses that end up on the assembly line are not raised for food, said Crosland, and at some point in their life could have been administered bute, a common pain reliever and anti-inflammatory drug given to horses. I've raised horses my whole life, and been around racetracks you do not want to eat that meat, it's loaded with wormers ( clearly labeled not for use in horses to be consumed) bute and dozens of other potent drugs these are not animals raised on farms meant to be eaten, they are animals that are used for other purposes where later consumption is not considered i would not eat them.
