On the Lowly Esteem of Self in God's Sight
Disciple: I will speak to You, Lord Jesus, though I am bust dust and ashes (Gn18:27). If I think myself any better, You stand opposed to me, and what is more, my own sins bear witness against me. This is evidence I cannot deny. I have lost You and myself by my disordered self-love; by seeking You again, I found both You and myself.
Lord, please turn us back to You again so that we may become grateful, humble, and devout; for You are our help, our salvation, and the strength of our body and soul.
