Beautiful People - One Year Edition

This is the one year anniversary of Beautiful People! :D

"Part 1: Instead of one character, choose two that are somehow tied together in a relationship. It doesn't matter what kind. They can be siblings, sweethearts, enemies, friends. Just two people who know each other. A relationship that you, as the author, would like to discover more about."

I decided to choose Marianne (because she's my main character and I know most about her) and Miranda (I need some more work on her character) - friends.

Marianne                                                Miranda

"Answer the first 10 questions as you normally would, but do it for both characters. This is where that optional part comes in, if you're not interested, feel free to use these questions as you would for just one character.

Also, if the question isn't suited for the world your character lives in, answer it as if they lived in a world that it would, or feel free to change the question to fit the situation.

(Thanks to Finvarra Penn and Alyianna for suggesting some of this months questions!)  Yes, some of these questions are mine. From Part 1 - #1-3 and from Part 2 - #3 (actually, I'm not sure about whether #3 is mine or not :P).

1. Do they believe in anything that most people think is impossible?
- If it can be considered as impossible, Marianne believes in...well, the things of a fantasy world. :)
- Miranda is more firmly grounded in the real world. As I've said before, I don't know much about her yet, but I would say no.

2. Are they strong, or the "damsel/knight in distress" sort?
- Marianne would be sort of half and half. She can be a bit of a damsel in distress, but she can also be strong.
- Miranda would definitely fit the description of "damsel in distress." She's been what some people call "sheltered" all her life, and hasn't had much experience of being on her own in the world.

3. Do they have a special place? (e.g. a corner in his/her bedroom, under a tree...)
In her old bad days, Marianne's special place would be anywhere where her passion was - the computer, the TV, the bookshelf, etc. But now that she's moved on past all that, it would be anywhere where she can find a place to rest and think or do something away from her quest.
- I don't exactly know what Miranda's special place would be in the beginning of the story. Later on, it's going to be the window seat in her room in...well, I'm not going to say what because I don't want to ruin the story for anyone. ;)

4. What occupation do they have, or plan on having?
Marianne was planning on becoming a web designer (I may change that later on) before her aunt and uncle died.
- Miranda was planning on going to university soon before all this danger came into her life.

5. Describe their current place of residence.
Oh, that's a tough question. My characters are going all over the place in my book (and I haven't even decided on all the places yet). But I'll stick with the places they stay in longer.

When the story begins (the prologue and first chapter), Marianne was living with her uncle and aunt. After the necklace was found, she left there and stayed for awhile in the house of the last Elves still living on Earth. After that, it's one day here, the next day somewhere else until places later in the story that I don't want to reveal yet.
- Miranda lived her first eighteen years with her parents. After that, it's the house of the last Elves and then a rich woman's house where she is staying to be protected.

6. Explain their last crisis. How had they changed when they came out of it?
When the story begins, Marianne abandons a...err, well, bad lifestyle. After that, it's one crisis after another. She becomes a moral, strong young woman with scars still left from her quest and her dreams come true.
- The main crisis Miranda faces is her own soul against the devil. She comes out of this triumphant against the devil.

7. If they could drive any kind of car they wanted, what would it be?
Actually, Marianne would rather "drive" a horse any day rather than a car.
- Miranda grew up an only child, and so she wants a large van one day to cart around all the children she wants to have one day.

8. How do they deal with change?
Marianne can change pretty quickly, if she has a good reason to change (spiritual improvement, etc.).
- On the other hand, Miranda resists change. She likes staying in her own comfort zone.

9. If they had to amputate one body part, which one would they choose?
Marianne wouldn't care. She'd probably prefer a leg rather than an arm, though, so she could still read. :)
- Miranda would say, "None!"

10. What would their favorite be at the local coffee shop?
I just have to say that I love this question. :P

Marianne likes muffins and a flavoured coffee.
- Miranda would choose something sweet. "Can I have a pop instead?"

Part 2: Here are 5 more questions. These ones are focused more on that relationship we mentioned above. The goal is to become more familiar with the way your two characters relate with one another. Think about your answers, don't be afraid to give us detail.

1. How did they meet?
Marianne and Miranda have been friends ever since little children. They might have met at a park or something, I'm not sure...

2. How do these two deal with conflict?
Marianne would do anything to save her friends, even if it meant putting herself in danger. Miranda, on the other hand, shrinks away from anything that could hurt her (she will change in this way this later in the story).

3. Do they have a special song, phrase, item, or place?
Marianne and Miranda both love songs that can relate to their lives. They both love Taylor Swift. ;)

4. What kind of things do they like to do together?
Marianne and Miranda like to talk about things they both enjoy. They also like to sing songs together and see who can sing them best. :)

5. Describe their relationship as a whole in 3 words, or less.
Friends Forever. :D
